Friday night we caught up with Jesse and some old friends at Gyu Kaku for a Japanese BBQ feast.
Then we headed down to Bunker in the meatpacking district.
First thing the following morning, I trooped down to 23rd street and the Flatiron District (new fisheye lens in tote), heading to Eataly.
Eataly is celebrity chef Mario Batali’s new 50,000 sqf mecca for Italian treats.
As far as food shopping experiences go, Eataly is where its at. Coffee, meats, fish, pizzas, pasta, fruit, all curated by some of the best chefs in the world. The way everything is merchandised and displayed perfectly makes it feel like a museum of culinary awesomeness. Except instead of staring at art, you’re stuffing you’re face. My kind of spot.
Insider tip. They have the best risotto you’ll find anywhere in the city. Flown in straight from Italy. Next time you wanna impress someone special go stock up on food from here and you’ll be set to go.
Go check the Eataly website here for more info.
